Not a day passes without shocking new developments concerning the SARS virus. The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome has greatly affected many countries, most severely being China. Their initial cover-up of this virus has allowed its spread to nearly get out of control. In addition to spreading via droplets from a sneeze, authorities now also believe that it can be spread via fecal matter.

While it appears that Canada, Vietnam, Singapore and Hong Kong have been able to contain the virus, it is still spreading in China. Already, thousands have been infected, with hundreds of deaths. Experts have suggested that over the long term, SARS may have an effect similar to that of the modern AIDS crisis. Some have even compared it to the 1918 flu epidemic—which killed 50 million.

This may be the newest super-virus, but it certainly will not be the last. The next issue of The Real Truth will investigate SARS and the effect this and other viruses will have on humanity.
